Mmmm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/howiem.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/BatPic-136.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-566\" alt=\"BatPic 136\" src=\"https:\/\/howiem.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/BatPic-136-500x375.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So the next time you have to stick a stranded wire in a screw terminal:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/howiem.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/BatPic-134.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-564\" alt=\"BatPic 134\" src=\"https:\/\/howiem.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/BatPic-134-375x500.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; slip a ferrule on the end of the wire:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/howiem.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/BatPic-137.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-567\" alt=\"BatPic 137\" src=\"https:\/\/howiem.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/BatPic-137-375x500.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; squish it up with the nearest tool to hand:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/howiem.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/BatPic-138.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-568\" alt=\"BatPic 138\" src=\"https:\/\/howiem.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/BatPic-138-500x375.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here, I&#8217;m using some crimpers, but you can use pliers, teeth,\u00a0an anvil &#8211; whatever&#8217;s to hand. Go wild.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/howiem.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/BatPic-121.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-551\" alt=\"BatPic 121\" src=\"https:\/\/howiem.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/BatPic-121-375x500.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now that&#8217;s a nicely terminated wire, if you know what I mean. You can snip the end off the ferrule with snips if it&#8217;s too long for your terminal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/howiem.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/BatPic-139.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-569\" alt=\"BatPic 139\" src=\"https:\/\/howiem.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/BatPic-139-500x375.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Look at that. Isn&#8217;t that better? Strain relief, no danger of stray strands of wire causing short circuits that you spend an hour looking for; it looks neater&#8230; too many advantages to list.<\/p>\n<p>To sum up: Ferrules. Oh yeah.
